Bluestone Jazz Tri Cities Jazz Music ''Guest Artists'' Biographies Bruce Kirton (Bass) Bruce is and has been apart of the wave of musicians experimenting with contemporary music since the late 1960's, he has played in all the famous clubs in Europe such as the ''Cavern Club'' in Liverpool, the ''Top Ten Club'' in Hamburg and ''The Roundhouse'' in Copenhagen. After touring extensively in Europe, Bruce moved to the US in the seventies and then to the Tri Cities in 2003. Luther Hughes (Drums) Luther is from Osage, West Virginia. He is well versed in Funk, R&B, Blues, and Soul, Luther played in numerous bands in the Spokane area before moving to the Tri-Cities. A former Air Force member, Luther has also performed in Korea, Japan, and the Philippines. Visit Luther at: www.myspace.com/plapocket Brendan McMurphy (Trumpet & Drums) Brendan graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet performance, but requires no stunt double when it comes to his second instrument, the drums. An intuitive and musically sensitive musician, Brendan is well versed in both jazz and classical performance. He has performed with the Washington Idaho Symphony, in addition to various Jazz big band & small group jazz combo settings throughout the Pacific Northwest.
